Rust rods

The investigations described in this report examined whether the previously assumed cause of damage caused by exploding nitrous oxide cylinders could be plausibly confirmed by simulation calculations. In addition, new rust bars are to be optimized so that they have a significantly longer service life or are designed to be safe against the explosion loads that are likely to occur.
Project description
Explosive loads in waste incineration plants caused by nitrous oxide cartridges result in damage to grate bar elements during operation, which can lead to the grate bar elements breaking. As a result, the damaged plant components must be replaced, which is associated with longer downtimes and high costs.
