Sternotomy implant

On behalf of a major manufacturer of implants based in Baden-Württemberg, a newly developed fixation technique for stabilizing the sternum after cardiac and thoracic surgery was investigated using numerical simulation models. Chest models were generated from CT scans of real patient data, and comparative calculations were used to compare traditional wire techniques with the new implants.
